General Information For School Recruiters

Search Associates consists of a growing team of very experienced educators who have almost all had substantial experience of working in leadership positions and senior management in international schools.  Our strength is our inside knowledge of hundreds of schools, and our decades of meeting with fellow Heads of international schools and their many outstanding teacher colleagues, thousands of whom we have interviewed in some depth.  We advise and support teachers, communicating with large numbers every day by e-mail, telephone, fax and letter.  We also meet Heads and visit schools as often as possible.  Our background means that we appreciate the implications of every staffing need, every in-school constraint and every local or national difficulty which you may ask us to bear in mind.

The aim of the British branch of Search Associates is to serve the needs of heads and teachers in mainstream English-medium international schools educating children aged 3 to 19 (or any subset of that age range).

Most, but by no means all, of the hundreds of teachers registered with the British branch of Search Associates are British and/or have current or previous experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum, either at a school in the UK or a British-system school overseas.  David Cope's register usually includes a wide variety of teachers of all ages of children from 3 to 19 and of all the specialist subjects taught in good international schools.

An applicant is only accepted for registration with Search Associates if the curriculum vitae, the interview / meetings with her or his Senior Associate and the confidential references all lead to the conclusion that many overseas British or international schools would be likely to find that teacher a welcome addition to their academic staff.
