Evaluation Forms

From 18 September 2009, Search Associates is using a new system for requesting and collecting confidential evaluations (references) for candidates registering with us.  The new system, which is outlined on this page, is intended to make the request process more streamlined and the completion process more secure.

Note To Candidates:

As of 1 October 2009 it is only possible to submit evaluation forms using the new system, so if any of your referees has not yet completed the form, you must ensure they have received a request for an evaluation by following the procedure described on this page.

Rest assured that any evaluations we have already received for you through the old system will not be in any way affected by these changes.  We will continue to keep them safely and make them available to recruiters in your support.  There is absolutely no need for any redoing of any evaluations already done.

What Evaluations / References Are Required?

When you apply for registration as a candidate with Search Associates we require the following numbers of evaluations in support of your application, according to the type of job you are looking for.

Please note that even though you only have to name three referees in the 'References' section of your online application form, at least FOUR evaluations (references) are normally required for every candidate.  (By the way, one or two additional evaluations beyond the suggested minimum of four could well be helpful to you, so there is no need to limit your list to four if you want to ask for more.)

Important Notes

How To Request An Evaluation / Reference From Your Referees

  1. Contact each referee to ask if (s)he is willing and ready to fill out an evaluation form for you.  If your referee accepts, make sure you have their correct e-mail address and full name, and inform them that they will soon receive an automatic e-mail message from Search Associates asking them to complete a short evaluation form.
  2. Log in to your candidate welcome page on the Search Associates website, and click on Add Referee.
  3. Read the instructions and complete the Referee Submission Form at the bottom of the page, entering your referee's name and e-mail address and choosing the type of evaluation form they should complete for you.
  4. Click on the Submit Referee Form button and view the confirmation page.  Your referee will then automatically receive an e-mail asking them to complete an evaluation for you.  Then, by following a personalised link, they will be able to access the appropriate form, complete it and submit it to us.
  5. For each additional referee you wish to add to your profile, click on Add Another Referee on the Referee Submission Form confirmation page (or come back later to repeat step 2 above, at any time) and then follow steps 3 and 4.

We recommend that you (a) check with each of your referees that they have received the e-mail request from Search Associates, (b) send them a gentle personal reminder if it appears they have received the request but are being slow to respond and (c) thank them once you know they have completed and submitted their evaluation.

Reviewing, Editing And Resending Your Evaluation / Reference Requests

At any time, and in particular if your referee has not received the e-mail request within 24 hours of your submitting the Referee Submission Form, you can check the referee details you entered and the status of each of your evaluation requests by clicking on View Status of Evaluations on your candidate welcome page.  If necessary, by clicking on the corresponding Resend  link in the evaluation request status list, you can correct the referee details you entered and resend the e-mail request.

Also, on the same welcome page you can click on Review List of Evaluations to see a full list of the completed evaluations in your online file.
